The Ten Commandments of Tournament Warlords

  1. Thou Shalt Play With Honor The essential thing is not to conquer, but to fight well and have fun. Thou shalt finish any game thy starteth. Thou shalt fight for thine own honor, and fight to the end. He who dishonors himself shall be publicized, remembered, and punished in future Warlords activities!

  2. Peace is not an Option! For each game thou starteth, thou shalt fight for twenty turns against three human foes. The finest warriors of the round shall sally forth for the next round. He who surviveth the tournament shall be known henceforth as "The Greatest" - at least until the next tournament!

  3. Thou Shalt Use All Features of the Game: Thou mayst do almost anything possible to win using the Warlords application only, including reverting, peeking at other kingdoms, and previewing ruin contents.

  4. Thou Shalt Not Cheat: Thou shalt not edit the Warlords application, the game file, battle tools, or any scenario data, nor shalt thou change a previous player's turn or enhance a human's forces, or thy disembodied head shall be planted on a pole and denied the glory of battle forevermore!

  5. Thou Shalt Carefully Brew thy Mighty Battles: Thou shalt carefully enter thy army strengths into WarBOT, and not do better in combat than it says. If thou makest more than three mistakes, thy decapitated body shall be drawn and quartered, and thy kingdom ruled by robots!

  6. Thou Shalt Record thy Exploits for Posterity: Thou shalt use the turn report template to record thy armies' and hero's exploits to all each turn, to glorify thy name - and allow thy enemies to confirm thy honor.

  7. Thou Shalt Limit Thy Heroes and Allies: Except in special scenarios, only one hero may defend thy banner and thy kingdom at any time. One ally may come with each replacement hero, One may come from each ruin, and Two may come from each stronghold. Thou shalt disband any others immediately. Thou must follow these rules, or thy skull shall be shattered and thy nation led by mindless electrons!

  8. Thou Shalt Move Quickly: Thou hast eight-and-forty hours to send thy move to the Warlords II Remailer from the time it is sent to thee, but Saturday doth not count. None may substitute for thee, but in each match thou hast four emergency "timeouts" of up to four-and-twenty additional hours. Further delay shall see thy head planted upon a pole and thy kingdom controlled by cowardly cyborgs!

  9. Thou Shalt not Keep Secrets: Thou shalt share all conversations with all players in the game, thou shalt not falsify email messages, and thou shalt confine "secret" messages to the signposts and cities of the map.

  10. Thou Shalt be Aided by thy Moderators: Thy doubts and concerns may be soothed by reading the rules and consulting the Moderators' Bible, and then writing your concern and indicating the relevant rules in supplication to the council of moderators, who will confer, decide the issue, and provide judgments and assistance where needed.
