Red Medzner D'Amphipolis 83 Green Ythorm Carstik 62 Blue Wayne's Warriors 92 Black Lord Lucky 30 The war begins as the heroine Jerka emerges in the Red city of Xantis, and installs griffin production in Aragadz. Ythorm Carstik then arrives by ship to the mystical land of Aerolandia. Mocking the very gods, he sends his hero Orzyll to tame the wilds. For Blue arrives Lord Wayne, and for Black Sir Luckalot. Only Wayne's Warriors take a second hero. The story of Lord Lucky is told by an old fisher, who had watched it all. Says he of the second day of war: >>> "...But an army needs cities to support it, and so the Hero Sir Luckalot took City #19, a Hvy.Inf. division took City #23, and then I saw the Demon first hand. I was in a small cove just outside of City #6 fixing my ship when the Demon came ashore. It passed me by in favor of taking the City. On it's way back into the ocean it passed me again, but this time I could feel it's will compelling me to join the fight on the side of the Lucky Empire. When my ship was complete, I put together a band of Hvy.Inf. from City #6, and that is just what I did..."<<< On turn 3, Red builds minotaurs, and now has by far the strongest army production, though Blue will match his griffin production on turn 4. Black engages Green, and the war has begun. Ythrom Carstik worries over the situation and his hero: >>>The sky is grey today. The end of the day is nearby. The sea is no longer quiet. The Spirit of the Sea, the name of the ship of Ythorm Carstik, begins its approach to Green West Coast as Yhtorm named it because of the view of those big forests... Ythorm Carstik is on the bridge. His confident look had disappeared from his face since many days now. No news from Orzyll !! What happened there... Are we in a bad situation ? Are we victorious ? Are we routed ? Are we ? Yhtom Carstik can't wait no more, and decided to put himself his foot on this strange and wild land... Why everything is always intricate ? What do we want in this world ? We just want a land where people can live in peace, and what do we find ? Another Land of war, and blood, and treachery... Now, we had to fight one more time and prove we can possess this land logicaly. And cause of the evil of the Gods who play with us like a toy, one of my best man, a guy I love so, risks his live every second. And, now we had no more news of him since the Black Lord attacked us... Orzyll, where are you ? I can't help no more this situation... Ythorm Carstik strike the wood of ship with his fist !! Suddenly, he sees light... The light that Orzyll used to use for send messages !! Yes, that'it, that's Orzyll !!!<<< On turn 6, Red's hero Jerka makes a suicide attack upon Prince Blue's castle, killing his demon but dying at the hand's of Blue's hero. By this point Blue and Black are beginning to take the lead. Then, on turn 8, Black takes a Blue city, precipitating a war, which Lord Lucky begins now with 21 cities. Things look even worse for Blue after Red kills his hero. But Wayne's Warriors fight back. They have taken possession of Red's strong cities, and soon gain the lost standards and battle items with a new hero (due in part, it seems, to a misunderstanding of the hero replacement rules by Red), by turn 11 they have 21 cities, and this number grows slowly as Black is preoccupied in the north. Meanwhile, Green laments his doom, waiting in a single city for the Black assault: >>>"- We can't go on like this, Orzyll... The men are going to be crazy !! They wait for the ultimate assault for so many hours, and days now... It's gonna be more and more difficult to keep their mind clear... They're loosing their self-control... - Grish... calm down.. I know that... I know... Myself, I live a difficult moment... We're all at the same point. But if it's the price to pay to have a peaceful death and a quiet and serene life after death, I would pay this price. If live that terrific fealing is the price to pay to say to the Gods that they can't break us easily, I would pay this price. We're all here for the same reasons... everyone here knew this... - But... - But what ? let the men flew away, be killed like animals by the black armies... let the men try to take the city in the North and let them hope a mercy behavior of the evil Lord... Let them betray their honor and their words toward to Ythorm Carstik and let the Gods earn a little more pleasure with our desteny... ? No Grish, it's the wrong way... You always believed in me, you and the others... believe me one more time... just one more time...<<< Green is wiped off the map on turn 14 (and Ythrom tells the story of his own demise nicely), in the most immense battle in the tournament. Eleven waves of young fighters are sent to break their bodies against the Green capital, with a total of 79 casualties on both sides (the previous record was 8 waves and 69 casualties). But now Black and Blue have near parity in cities and Blue has the stronger units (he has even managed to build elephants at this point). Plus, Black has suffered heavy casualties taking the Green capital. Worse, even the lowly Red, reduced to a single city, sends out his last griffin to menace the underdefended Black rear. These would prove barriers too high to overcome. In a nice ending, Black kills Blue's hero and retakes the Black capital city. The fisher then leaves the war to tell the story: >>> "We gathered a sizable naval force outside of '21', but without our hero to lead us, it would have been doomed to fail. Besides, Sir LuckaLot had a better place to go: He retook his Capital City from the impostor Count Blue and affixed a different Standard atop each of the four towers. Bristling with his four Magical Battle Items, he swore that he would retake every city he had lost and then conquer the rest as well! Well, he was so strong an powerful that I knew I wasn't needed anymore. So I have been sailing ever since, stopping in ports and looking for another land whose ruler's are fighting and in need of my skills. In fact, I have heard there is tension building in the land of Rowne Dee, and I am headed there now, Spirits willing..."<<< In the end, Wayne's Warriors led the difficult Blue to victory and a third place finish for his color against higher ranked warlords. Look out for Wayne's Warriors in League play, since they have clearly gotten the hang of things!
