As soon as they arrive, he uses them as scouts to lead him to the dreaded Yuri's Cenotaph. The local people fear the hideous creature that dwelt there. They claim he made Medusa appear beautiful! Some have been heard to beg for blindness. But since the great flood, none have seen him. Kamevil hopes to enlist his ugliness into the Spectator army. He sounds like the perfect couch potato. As they approach the ruin, the dwarves pull sacks over their heads and hold their stomachs. Kamevil envisions his first nanny and holds his stomach, prepared for the worst. Instead he finds three giant worms nearly dead of starvation! Cautiously, he approaches them and offers one food from his pack. He signals the dwarves to do like- wise. He calculates that animals will be loyal to the hand that feeds. Two revive, but the third one dies. It appears that they were put under a hold spell (the dwarves speak a tongue the worms understand) for a few days (powerful spell!) and when they came out of it, they were too weak to hunt. And yes, they will follow Kamevil to victory! Kamevil sends them off with orders. He looks warily around. Powerful wizards have been about, and that concerns him. He wonders if his mate has begun her tasks yet. The Couch is abuzz once again. A beautiful heroine has arrived under orders from Kamevil and she is accompanied by a dragon. Many fear the dragon and stay behind doors, furtively peering out. She immediately barks orders to the cavalry unit and flies off toward the west. Solindra and Scales the Dragon approach Aubert's Crypt. There is a snarl of traffic heading towards the Crypt for some sort of celebration. The sight of Scales creates a path and Solindra picks up with the Merchandising. They again fly west as the Crypt Keepers applaud the Spectator champion. They have a feeling of confidence. He already knows that the mighty demon Gornach awaits him there. Gornach has participated in the games before and eagerly joins with Kamevil. He is immediately dispatched north to assist the armies preparing to confront the Athletes! Kamevil rejoins the dwarves and camps at Garmisch-P. Contact with the enemy is eminent. Sleep comes sparingly. Solindra and Scales fly hard to a swamp near Calgary and approach an ornate structure that has two guards stationed at the door. Solindra dismounts and quickly enters the structure (dragons are not allowed inside). Scales menacingly eyes the guards and snorts. The guards begin to sweat and one decides to go on break. Solindra finds an archon patiently perusing large, well-maintained books. The Vault of Saves contains many valuable records of battles in this region. For new combatants and officers fresh from the Olympic Academy, it is required reading. Barkol gently closes the tome and envisions Solindra with much less clothing. Then he remembers his manners and requests his assignment. A Reporter Hero has been sighted nearby. So unfortunately, plans have changed and Barkol will not accompany Solindra. He respectfully bows and flies post haste to Rio to join the light cavalry there. He begins to feel the nervous energy present with anticipation of battle. This is his first Olympic War and he will not dissappoint so beautiful a commander. Solindra departs the vault and wonders where the guards went. She mounts Scales and he sluggishly lifts off for the northwest. The light cavalry unit has already conquered and pillaged Rio when Barkol arrives. They will stay put and monitor the Reporter Hero until reinforcements arrive. The speedy giant worms have been busy. One swiftly conquers Seoul and with marvelous proficiency advances to Dublin. The griffins garrisoned there are difficult to dislodge from there entrenched positions, but the worm prevails. Future units of griffins from here will now fight for the Spectators! Sleep comes sparingly. Solindra and Scales fly hard to a swamp near Calgary and approach an ornate structure that has two guards stationed at the door. Solindra dismounts and quickly enters the structure (dragons are not allowed inside). Scales menacingly eyes the guards and snorts. The guards begin to sweat and one decides to go on break. Solindra finds an archon patiently perusing large, well-maintained books. The Vault of Saves contains many valuable records of battles in this region. For new combatants and officers fresh from the Olympic Academy, it is required reading. Barkol gently closes the tome and envisions Solindra with much less clothing. Then he remembers his manners and requests his assignment. A Reporter Hero has been sighted nearby. So unfortunately, plans have changed and Barkol will not accompany Solindra. He respectfully bows and flies post haste to Rio to join the light cavalry there. He begins to feel the nervous energy present with anticipation of battle. This is his first Olympic War and he will not dissappoint so beautiful a commander. Solindra departs the vault and wonders where the guards went. She mounts Scales and he sluggishly lifts off for the northwest. The light cavalry unit has already conquered and pillaged Rio when Barkol arrives. They will stay put and monitor the Reporter Hero until reinforcements arrive. The speedy giant worms have been busy. One swiftly conquers Seoul and with marvelous proficiency advances to Dublin.
