Subject: W2WT: Finishing up the Practice Round

Greetings, Warlords!

Most of the Round A games have been created, and we will be
Letting the War Begin on Monday or Tuesday!

With Round A getting underway, there will be some changes in the
way we run the Practice Round.

* We want you to be able to focus on your Round A games, but we also
want you to finish up your Practice Round games as quickly as possible.

* We will not be strictly enforcing the time limits for the Practice
and Quick games. If you run out of timeouts, send in a query message
and your moderator will restore them. But play as fast as you can!
Moderators should *not* restore timeouts unless you request it.

* The Moderators are also playing in Round A games. To let them focus
on playing and moderating in Round A, they will be doing less to help
you in the Practice Round. They will still look for rules errors and
answer questions, but they won't be volunteering any more advice.
Moderators are not allowed to provide strategic advice while
official games are underway, because it is no longer fair.

* Some of you may want to play your Practice Round games past Turn 10.
That's great! But when your Practice Round games reach Turn 11, they
do need to pause for a bit so everyone can learn how to report the
official final game standings for the tournament. (There are no
prizes for the Practice Round, though.)

* After all the Practice Round game results are in, the "sample"
tournament standings will be determined, and posted on the Web.

* More information about Round A will be sent over the next few days!
