Dear [ New Player ],

Your Warlords II World Championship Tournament Registration data
has been received and is now being processed! Although your registration
is a little late, you should have no problem joining the tournament if
you follow the instructions below. We have you listed as playing
[ flavor (or 2nd flavor if necessary) ] on the [ platform ].

Here's what will happen next:

(1) We have added you to our mailing list of Tournament Players, so that
we can keep you informed of the progress of the Tournament.

(2) The first stage of the Tournament is a "Play-by-Email Certification".
If you are already an expert then this is simply a formality, but
if you are inexperienced you'll learn everything you need to know
to get started. The sooner you complete this, the sooner you can
play!

[ name and address ], one of our Tournament
Volunteers, will be your "Email Buddy". [ name ] is a veteran player
with lots of experience playing [ warlords flavor ] on the [ platform ].

He will contact you shortly to help you learn the basic aspects
of tournament style play-by-email gaming: scenario installation and
file transmission.

If all goes well, you will be certified quickly. Novices will get all
the training and advice they need. If a problem occurs we will
ask you for your Warlords version and computer system info,
and (if necessary) switch you to a new Email Buddy with expertise
in your specific configuration. As a late entry, however, we will not
hold up the tournament for you, so it is up to you to learn quickly
and get up to speed in time to play in the Practice Round!

(3) Once you complete the basic PBEM certification, we will officially
"activate" you for the upcoming Practice Round of the Tournament.
The Practice Round is a supervised round during which we will explain
all the Tournament Rules. That way everyone will be ready for the
start of the Tournament. The Practice Round is mandatory; only
players who complete the Practice Round will play in the Tournament.
Once we start the Practice Round we will distribute the scenarios,
army sets, gamefiles, WarBOT, and other tools that you will need.

(4) For now, however, simply relax and wait peacefully for your
Email Buddy to contact you! If "peace is not an option" for you :)
we recommend that you print out the following documents for
some light reading:
