Scots- The Wars of Scottish Independence Scenario
                                1300 AD
                by Jan and Sue Kohl

This is the second in my historical battles series, with
"Wales-1275 AD" being the first one. If you don't have a copy of that
please email me and I will send you one. This is the third one overall,
with "LOR- The Battles of Middle Earth" being the second.

My wife and I spent alot of time making this scenario, and first
of all we would like to acknowledge these excellent books.."Castles" by
Plantagenet Somerset Fry, the Ordnance Survey Motoring Atlas (of the
United Kingdom), and "The Ordnance Survey Guide to Castles in Britain".
Without these books, it would have been impossible to create this
scenario in such detail.

This scenario is set in the year of 1300 AD, when Robert Bruce
was giving the King of England, Edward I, alot of heat. In fact, basically
he was a pain in the King's behind. Edward had tried to set up a puppet
king in Scotland, but Robert would have none of it, and the Scots rebelled.
Throughout the late 13th century and 14th century, they battled all over
Scotland and Northern England. Castles burned, and armies clashed in the
fields. First one side would have the upper hand, then the other. Finally,
as we know now, the English prevailed, but at this point in time, nothing
was certain.

We claim artistic liscense on the developement of this scenario.
Even though we tried to create as realistic a scenario for you (and us)
we had to "fudge" a few things. First of all, some of the castles in
this scenario weren't built when these battles were going on, and there
were alot of castles that were left out. Second, some of the history
and many of the ruins had to be "tweaked", since information on some
of them was very sketchy indeed. However, if you should like a more
realistic scenario as far as armies go, check out Scots-2, which has
none of the monsters and more of a medieval feel to it.

Anyhow, we hope you enjoy this, and please give us a bell if you
have any comments, both good or bad. Farewell, and keep thy sword sharp!!
