Silmarillion
A Warlords II scenario for Macintosh

This is a custom scenario for the Macintosh, based on J.R.R Tolkien's Silmarillion. Included is an army set which I created for this scenario, and probably has little use elsewhere, but some of my graphics are sorta cool :) There is also a terrain file, which is only slightly different from the standard Grasslands. Please send feedback to if you use this scenario.

I am deeply endebted to Mattew Hills for two excellent programs which enabled me to do this scenario. The first is War Correspondent 0.07b, which I did my army specs and some items with. The second is WarCart68K, which is an in-development map builder. These two programs were my main tools, but I also used Res Edit for some things.

The basic game concept was supposed to be an all-powerful Morgoth (black), against everyone else, but that was changed due to lack of potential. If all the elf princes join against Morgoth they could win easy, but they didn't in the book, and they won't in the game. Still, Black is easily the most powerful (I hope). Everywhere else, game fairness comes behind sticking to the book. It may not be interesting to play, let me know.

The Terrain file is there because it's what I used to give Red (Maehdros) a new city picture. It also contains hero names for all the races, but only the first 5 or 10. To get it to work you must re-name your Grasslands terrain, and start a game. You will have to search for the terrain file. Simply open up the Sillmarillion. After that you can change Grasslands name back and that game will always open the correct terrain file.

What else? I've included two other files: One is a short army description, the other is a short summary so that the game will make sense to those of you who have never read this excellent book. And thanks to SSG for their wonderful game and (scenario editor) (where?).
